About you
You like to act as a sustainability ambassador and are passionate about creating meaningful change in the industry? You are a quick thinker and easily work your way into new environmental regulations and policies? You are highly-versed in European policy, environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks? You are keen to drive continuous improvement to achieve optimal performance? You like to devise environmental and sustainability strategies that can deliver best practice? You would like to take on the challenge to be in charge of supporting Eco-Consul on its journey towards a greener and more sustainable future?

In addition, you have:
An environmental or sustainability degree (or equivalent)
Approx. 10 years of broad business experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in heavy industry
Proven sustainability experience in an international corporation
Experience in liaising with regulatory bodies (environment agencies etc.)
Profound understanding of key sustainability areas: climate, circular economy, diversity & inclusion, compliance & ethics, sustainable procurement and human rights, biodiversity and health & safety
Excellent knowledge of international sustainability standards to ensure compliance with regulations (EU Taxonomy), international reporting standards (GRI) and ESG ratings (e.g., Ecovadis, MSCI, Sustainalytics)
Experience in briefing senior managers on changes in legislation or policy and possible consequences for their areas

About the job
In this role will be responsible for global sustainability. You will be driving the company’s sustainability governance and ensure Eco-Consul progresses with its sustainability targets. You lead through influence, working in close collaboration with senior leadership, different business units, plant managers and other internal sustainability stakeholders to build internal know-how.

Your tasks will include:
Ensuring that all environmental processes are aligned with industry requirements and kept up to date
Ensuring progression of ambitious climate targets in line with science-based targets and net-zero and identifying of what is required
Driving the company’s external reporting on climate change; experience with TCFD, SBTs, CDP and understanding what investors, customers and stakeholders are looking for
Providing quarterly reports on sustainability performance across the Group to the Corporate Sustainability Board Committee, advising on most recent external developments (including benchmarking and monitoring of issues and regulation), ability to translate these and act as a trusted partner for long-term strategic sustainability
Leading and development of annual sustainability reporting (TCFD, GRI) and materiality assessment
Representing the company on relevant forums, building relationships with multi-stakeholders and NGOs
